You already know something is off.
Not with your life, exactly.
But with the noise you have been living inside.
You have been trying to think clearly
in a room that never gets quiet.
This is the door.
A 4-day retreat · 48 hours of darkness
At any loud gathering, there are people inside the noise and people who have stepped outside to breathe. Not because they do not belong. Because they cannot hear themselves think in there. The people on the porch are often the ones the room actually needs. This retreat is built for them.
The world is in overwhelm. Noise, distraction, and demand have reached a pitch most people have simply accepted as normal. The capacity to hear one's own thoughts, to know what is actually true, to feel the body's signal beneath the noise: these are not luxuries. They are basic human needs. And for most people, they are not being met.
No prior practice or experience is required. What is required is the readiness and willingness to hear your truth and return to what has been there beneath the noise all along.
The body knows before the mind does. It knows when it is overloaded. It shows it in the quality of sleep, in the difficulty making decisions, in the background anxiety that has no clear source, in the fog that settles when too much is coming in at once. This is not malfunction. It is an accurate reading of the environment.
And the body also knows when it is ready to stop.
If something in you is activated reading this, that is the signal. Your call to come out of the noise.
Forty-eight hours of complete darkness is not a spa treatment. It is a biological reset. The pineal gland runs without interference. Melatonin cycles fully. Cortisol drops to its natural floor. Growth hormone, leptin, and ghrelin all recalibrate. The nervous system stops bracing. Here is what that looks like, hour by hour.
The 48-Hour Darkness Reset — A Biological Timeline of Internal Silence
Before entering the darkness, facilitators guide each participant through a complete set of self-regulation practices: skills to take into the dark and keep long after leaving. These are not coping tools. They are practices for working with what arises using the body's own intelligence, ways of moving through anxiety, restlessness, and the pull to fill the silence without fighting any of it. Every participant enters equipped. That is not incidental to the experience. It is foundational to it.
The Porch is held at a luxury retreat center in Boise. Each participant has a private, sound-resistant room with a private bathroom, sealed completely from light: blackout sealed, temperature controlled. Meals are prepared and waiting in the room. Hydration throughout the retreat is provided by Trinity Springs water, the only certified natural health water in North America, drawn from 2.2 miles beneath the surface of the Idaho batholith and untouched by modern contaminants. It is among the purest water available anywhere on earth.
Ten people enter their sanctuaries at the same time. While participants do not meet in the dark, the field of others doing the same work is felt. A facilitator holds the space at all times: steady, present, and available. Sacred and safe are not competing qualities here. Both are the standard.
Arrive at 10am. Orientation, grounding, and opening ceremony. Meet the other participants and the space. Share a meal together. Receive your room. Enter the dark Friday evening.
48 hours in the dark. You will lose track of time. Simple light meals are available in your room when you feel the desire to eat. Facilitators hold the field with you throughout. You move at the pace the darkness sets.
Re-entry. Time to land, shower, and return to yourself gently. Share what surfaced. A closing circle, optional and unhurried. Stay the night.
Depart by 10am. Integration support continues after you leave. A follow-up call is available to any participant who wants it.
You are currently in an active psychotic episode, untreated bipolar disorder in manic phase, or acute trauma crisis.
If you are in active psychiatric treatment, please consult your provider before registering. This is not a clinical intervention. It is a threshold practice. It is powerful. Power requires discernment.

Moon Tucker has spent more than a decade supporting people in crisis find their way back to their own truth. She knows that terrain from the inside. Violence, addiction, suicidal ideation, self-sabotage: these are not abstract concepts in her work. They are the map she has already walked. A near-death experience that cost her an arm and her stability did not end that walk. It deepened it.
What she brings to this work is not a method. It is a presence forged in the kind of circumstances most people are trying to recover from. In the darkness, where there is nothing to perform for and nowhere to hide, that quality of presence matters more than any credential. Moon holds the field steady so others can finally stop holding everything themselves.

The noise will still be there
when you come back out.
The difference is that you will have remembered what exists underneath it. That changes how you move through the rest.
